St. John's College Alumni Links
by Mark Middlebrook
St. John's alumni sites seems to be popping up like mushrooms lately. Here are the ones that I know about:
More-or-less official sites
- www.stjohnscollege.edu/asp/alumassocMain.aspx?page=4630&parent=1010: The national St. John's College Alumni Association site, with a list of contacts for local alumni chapters, links to the Annapolis and Santa Fe alumni offices, and even the Association by-laws (whoopee!).
- www.stjohnscollege.edu/asp/main.aspx?page=4605: Philanthropia (a.k.a. the Alumni Development Council - alumni helping the college raise the money it needs from other alumni).
Chapter sites
- teamrioja.org/sjcaanc/: The Northern California alumni chapter site.
- groups.yahoo.com/group/stjohnsdc/: The Washington (D.C.) area chapter site.
- victorian.fortunecity.com/milton/578/ (lots o' pop-ups) and www.ncneighbors.com/1184/: Two North Carolina Alumni chapter sites.
- www.sjcalums.com/nyc/: The New York City chapter site.
- www.hellos.com/sjc/: The Pittsburgh chapter site.
- www.fisterrastudio.com/sjc.html: The Austin chapter site.
Individual efforts
- http://www.sjc2004.org: A site for class of 2004 alumni.
- www.charm.net/~bfant/johnny/johnny.html: Bill Fant's St. John's College Unofficial Alumni Homepage, the grandaddy of all alumni sites. Gateway to the Johnny e-mail discussion list, plus alumni listings by class and some interesting essays by Eva Brann, James Carey, and other notables.
- www.johnnie.net: "A place for Johnnies
to integrate contemporary discoveries into the Great Books experience", maintained by Alutha Jamancar (formerly Brad Westgaard).
- www.sjcalums.com: a site being built by New York folks that's intended to "foster community among SJC alums" world-wide. It's still in beta, but is usable now. (This site also contains the New York City chapter Web pages.)
- www.egroups.com/subscribe/johnnyXpress The johnnyXpress eGroup, a Web/e-mail discussion group created by Hallie Leighton. (You will need to sign in with a Yahoo ID and password in order to see the group.)
- www.egroups.com/subscribe/J-NetPsychology The J-NetPsychology eGroup, another Web/e-mail discussion group, this one created by Clare Lorraine. (You will need to sign in with a Yahoo ID and password in order to see the group.)
- canter.editthispage.com/: Class of 1981 reunion site, maintained by Evan Canter.
